after completing «homenanje al duho» i became totally fascinated with the intricate designs on taino duhos, the ornately carved wooden ritual seats used by taino caciques, or chiefs, during ceremonial communication with the the spirit world. during my research for «homenanje al duho» i came across a gorgeous duho sold at an online auction (image 2). i combined the designs with colors from the taino flag and three ::phenomena:: that fascinate & drive me the most in life: passion, existence, and beauty.
