this is my first time pouring and playing with paint — without a specific plan other than i wanted to connect to the circular symbol for zen (the metal leaf shape). life is more strange and intense for me right now than i can make sense of — in every direction — spilling out of zen in its largeness.

this painting came to me with this poem in response to the “moonlight dreamer” prompt by her heart poetry.

it felt right
to follow orders of heart
when they were delivered with clarity

and now confusion
leads to fragmented decrees
formed of necessity ~ over want
