this is one stage of a concept in development. when i first spoke to the owner of ugly duck coffee, rory van grol, we came up with this concept that rory called «b-sides» — showing work in progress, at different stages, and even work that didn't make it to the end. i didn't have time to develop the idea enough for this exhibition. but this piece is a step in that direction.

this version was a concept sketch based on a photo. in image 2 the idea evolved to lines with perspective. i couldn't get the piece shiny enough for my liking so in the video you will see me playing with goldleaf in another version. i am currently working on a very large version covered with silver glitter. it is a fun challenge.
